Never been kissed rapidshare

The golden age of romantic comedies has long passed. In our Rom-Com Rewind column , we take a deep dive into the movies we so loved. Do they stand the test of time? Do they make any sense? Just how believable are they? Are they actually any good the second or third, or fourth time around? Let's just see, shall we? Josie Geller Drew Barrymore , who is the "youngest editor at the Chicago Sun-Times " and a socially awkward bore—she's constantly correcting her colleagues' grammar.

Note: This movie is how I found out I was a socially awkward bore. She is Sam Coulson Michael Vartan , an extremely hot high-school English teacher. No idea how old he is, but he's definitely too old to be in love with one of his students, a fact which is shockingly relevant here. Possibly the most problematic rom-com character of all time. But also one of the hottest. John C.

Josie desperately wants to be a reporter, but Gus won't let her—despite the fact that he's used some of her pitches. He thinks she's too much of a control freak. On the romance front, Josie has not been on a date for a looooooooong time. And, by the way, she's totally kissed guys before. So, the movie's title is totally inaccurate. Our girl is just waiting for the right guy before she tries again. She only wants to kiss "the person you're supposed to kiss for the rest of your life.

Instead of going on dates, Josie wears argyle sweater dresses and embroiders cushions. The framing of this seems harsh. Why is everyone so hard on women who have hobbies? At a pitch meeting, Rigfort, who is either someone's bossy grandfather or the editor-in-chief at the Chicago Sun-Times , tells Josie he wants her to write "My Semester at High School," an undercover story about going to high school.

This story has no news peg and no angle. Overall, it seems like a bad use of resources. Also, none of the other writers gets assigned any stories in the meeting, which seems odd. What do all these journalists do all day?

But Josie does not care. Josie's dream of being a reporter is coming true! She's going to South Glen South. When Josie tells her brother, Rob David Arquette , about her new assignment, he's horrified. Cue flashback: In high school, Josie was a mousy nerd who had braces and a huge crush on the dreamy?

If you look up "rude bully" in the dictionary, basically, you get Billy's face. Think of the most humiliating things that could happen to a girl in high school: They all happened to Josie. Toilet paper in her backpack! Being pranked by the popular kids! Reading a poem about unrequited love out loud!

The Bad Idea Alarm is ringing. Unfortunately, Josie cannot hear it. It immediately becomes apparent why Gus had doubts about Josie's journalistic capabilities. Her first-day outfit is some kind of all-white confection and a double-citrus tote bag.

Absolutely no one is having it. A handsome young man walks through the door. Sandy Isaac , Nancy Juvonen. Abby Kohn , Marc Silverstein. Apr 9, wide. Oct 26, Fox, 20th Century Fox. Drew Barrymore Josie Geller. David Arquette Robert Gellar. Michael Vartan Sam Coulson. Molly Shannon Anita Olesky.

View All Critic Reviews Dec 23, There's just nothing really noteworthy about this film, although it is still entertaining.

Stephen S Super Reviewer. Jul 10, Rob Geller: Wow, that was just like "Carrie"! I thought she was gonna kill us all. It's so annoyingly joyful. It's basically one huge delusion. Hey, I can go back to high school where I never really fit in, and have a second chance. Oh, look now I'm the most popular girl in school and all the boys want to tickle my belly button from the inside obvious Youth in Revolt allusion. But I'm still the girl I was when no one liked me.

I still have a great modesty about me that I'll give up my reign on top for a fellow nerd in need. And you know what? I'll still get the guy. Give me a fucking break. Could this movie be anymore predictable and dull? Answer: Probably, but not much more.
