Small, cheap and doesn't use much power however you may have a driver issue depending on the printer. It's not just a matter of finding "the right wire," you need something that fulfills all the functionality of being a network "print server" if that functionality is not already built into your printer.
You are using your PC to do this under the current paradigm. It's more than "just" a USB to ethernet converter. Though it's possible such a device is packaged in the form of a "cable" or an "adapter. Speaking of Wi-Fi - check out your printer - I've known some that will connect to a network wirelessly but not by ethernet. That may be another option.
